ACI Lines Up New Notebook Range For April

By Bosky Shroff
Mumbai, Mar 27, 2006

Mumbai-based notebook company ACI (Asia) is set to introduce three new models with new features in the first week of April 2006 - Bellisima, Securezza and V7 laptop powered by Via CPU.

According to Hirji Patel, CMD, ACI, both Bellisima, which weighs 1 kg, and Securezza will be priced approximately Rs 80,000, while the V7 will cost Rs 29,999. The new notebooks carry a one-year warranty.

Patel added, "Securezza will have the data stored in the most secured manner so that no other person apart from the user can access the data even if he tries to by inserting the hard disk in a notebook with similar configuration. The third new model, V7 laptop, will have the coolest and the most secured CPU, and at 1-2 GHz, it will be faster than Pentium M."

Bellisima features Titanium CPU, ultra-low voltage, 40 GB HD, 512 MB, and WiFi. Securezza is a biometric notebook and has a TPM chip inside, which encodes the data that passes through it.

In addition, the company is also launching a 6 inch x 8 inch home server media center with dual-core Intel CPU.

"We are the first in the world to launch these new models, which are expected to be unveiled in the first week of April," Patel said.

The company also plans to open 300 showrooms across the country by the third quarter of 2006. It recently opened showrooms at Chembur, Goregoen, Dadar and Malad in Mumbai.

"We plan to open similar showrooms by the third quarter this year in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and many other B and C class cities too. These showrooms will have a wide variety of ACI notebooks, along with the exclusive range like ACI Ethos, Icon S and Elite notebooks," Patel added.
What is the potential for ACI's new models?

At first, I thought who is ACi. After obtaining my first laptop from them, I truely value their equipment and their cause for making laptops affordable in India. Their quality is as good as any branded laptops and furthermoer, they service all brands which i have got to see myself. That made me come to ACi and for last 16 months, I have had absolutely no problems. Infact, 5 of my friends also bought from them, 2 of which bought higher end. We all are very happy. Great work ACi!!!!

Ha... cant take it any more. If its the first in the world then he must be manufacturing himself. Lets find out his manufacturing base so that we can all pick up stocks at good price from him. Where is your Manufacturing base and R&D Centre Mr.Patel

For your information, Mr Patel is highly reputed ex-missile scientist and is well capable of producing anything the world has not seen before. Let us all appreciate his work in India as he is only trying to help develop our country as a laptop nation. This can't be bad surely, so let us cut all this crap and assist Mr Patel in his cause.

I am a user of ACi laptop for a long period. My freinds are also having ethos V model and other models also. We are enjoying a lot with them. We are very much satisfied with ACi office in guwahati. The service they are offering is good Because they are having their service center in their own building. The products ACi is going to launch will create sansation in the indian market.

Mr.Hirji Patel announcements about the new generation of laptop of ACI (Asia)will create havoke in the market. He is the person who introduced first in India low cost laptop long back namely ethos V and not a single complain we have received within the period of 3 years.
