Netgear Technologies, a provider of networking and security products, has unveiled the Netgear 802.11g wireless access point WGL102 and wireless security gateway WFS709TP.
Commenting on the new launch, Atul Jain, country nanager of Netgear for India & SAARC region, said, "The growth in computing platform in India has driven the demand for internet connectivity in India. The trend is clearly in favour of wireless connectivity as it helps accessing information anytime at any place."
According to Jain, the segments that have driven the wireless market include SOHO, Home and SME. Netgear 802.11g wireless access points - WGL102 - and security gateway WFS709TP come with lifetime warranty.
The WFS709TP has been designed as a network switch to connect, secure and manage up to seven wireless access points per device. Wired network upstream connectivity is via a Gigabit network port. The WFS709TP needs to be configured prior to attaching any of the wireless access points.
The WGL102 access point can only be operated in unison with the WFS709TP and together they create a robust enterprise-level wireless network system. It delivers the secure, reliable, high performance wireless local area networks (WLANs) as per today's mobile workforce demands. The Netgear ProSafe Smart Wireless Switch also supports MAC address authentication, support for multiple BSSID/ VLANs and guest/contractor access.
The WGL102 and WAGL102 both support Power over Ethernet (PoE), which the WFS709TP provides. All management of these access points is via the WFS709TP wireless gateway switch.
The products are available with Rashi Peripherals and Cyberstar Infocom. The price of WFS709TP and WGL102 are Rs.1,50,000 and Rs.10,500, respectively. They are protected with a Lifetime Warranty.
