Transcend Releases 1GB DDR3 1066MHz Memory Modules

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Jun 7, 2007

Transcend, a global manufacturer of memory modules, has released its brand-new DDR3 1066 MHz memory modules, which will support Intel's high-performance desktop platforms.

The new memory module has higher speed and bandwidth than DDR2 memory modules, and its performance is ideal for systems using dual or quad core processors. Besides, the DDR3 supply voltage has been decreased from 1.8V to 1.5V; thus reducing power consumption by 30% as compared to the DDR2-800 U-DIMM. The lower voltage of DDR3 also provides a more efficient memory solution for Intel's Bearlake series platforms.

Transcend's DDR3 1066 MHz memory module is now available in 512-MB and 1-GB capacities.

Transcend's 1 GB DDR3 1066 MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM uses 16 pieces of 64Mx8 original brand name DDR3 FBGA chips. The six-layer PCBs used in Transcend's modules are designed to meet JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) specifications by minimizing noise signal disturbance, and enhancing overall performance. In addition, DDR3 memory modules incorporate On-DIMM Termination to minimize signal reflections at higher speeds, thereby improving timing margins, which increases operating speeds.

All Transcend memory modules come with a lifetime warranty, and a global service network.
Are memory products flooding the market?

Yes . There is increase in the production levels from Jan 07 till date.(Almost 33%).Consumption has not grown at such fast rate. Hence flooding/ dumping is natural.
