AMD Extends High Flyers Program to all Partners
By
ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Apr 16, 2008
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has rolled out its 'AMD High Flyers' Annual Challenge, a year-long program designed for channel partners who have contributed to the growth of AMD's business in India.
Previously limited to its select Platinum and Gold partners, this is the first time that the program is being opened out to all channel partners including AMD's Computer Processing Group (CPG) and Graphics Processing Group (GPG) partners and retail partners across the 4 zones in India and other countries in the subcontinent, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Announcing the program, Deepanshu Sharma, general manager-marketing & strategy of AMD India, said, "Such programs are a sincere attempt from our side to recognize the efforts our partners have invested in spreading the good word, and evangelizing the AMD product line in the region. We will ensure that this is an exciting program throughout the year, and an unforgettable experience at the grand finale."
The program builds on the consistent enablement and motivation programs already in place that focus on building technical expertise, by educating the channel partners about the AMD advantage so that they can communicate the same effectively to their customers and configure appropriate solutions for customers.
Channel partners will be recognized for achievement of targets by getting a nomination for the annual channel meet scheduled for the early part of 2009. Targets will be decided based on their business potential and the growth of AMDs business volume generated. Special efforts and achievements will also be recognized at the event by way of awards, the company said.
The Annual Challenge is also supported by a consistent communication plan and quarterly challenges.
Top 100 partners from the country will be invited for the event at a 'yet to be announced' location. Special awards are being instituted for recognizing the 'best sellers' among the different product categories and sub-regions.

I agree cent percent on the findings. I remember the old days when a dedicated/able team under the leader ship of Mr. Sanjeev Keskar. they motivated us and we worked hard to see that, AMD captured almost 40% of Kerala Market. Then Suddenly the new team taken charge after that I have seen many hardcore AMD suporters just gone to Hybernation because of their wrong policies. Now a days I am seldom seeing technical people like Arvind Chandrasekar, Rahul Singh.
We are sad to loose such a fine people.
Hope the present team will realise and change the situation once again to the AMD's favour.
Let us Hope for the best.

Dear Satheesh, I am still around in AMD. Just that I don't handle the Channel anymore, but look after the Enterprise segment where AMD has made progress in leaps and bounds. IDC reported a market share of over 23% in the Commercial Segment for AMD last year. Stay in touch, my e-mail ID is the same. |
