AMD has rolled out 2 new 45-watt processors, namely - AMD Athlon X2 4450e and AMD Athlon X2 4050e. According to the company, the dual-core desktop processors have been designed to reduce power consumption for greater performance-per-watt.
The processors are expected to enable OEMs to offer differentiated solutions, enabling the development of smaller and sleeker form factors - that can cut down on energy consumption, take up less space, and operate with less noise.
According to AMD, the Athlon X2 45-watt processors are the outcomes of its latest effort, to enable energy-efficient platform solutions, which better meet the performance and digital media consumption needs of users. Also, the company claims that when AMD energy-efficient CPUs are combined with the recently launched AMD 780G chipset, users can obtain further efficiency gains.
The 2 processors have been designed for mainstream and enthusiast power users, who run multiple processor-intensive applications simultaneously. Also, digital media enthusiasts, looking for enhanced digital content creation and consumption capabilities with energy efficiency, will be benefited from these processors.
