APC Appoints David Plumer, VP, Asia Pacific

American Power Conversion (APC), the global data center infrastructure and power protection company, announced the appointment of David Wesley Plumer, Jr. as the vice president of Asia Pacific operations.
Plumer joined APC in January 2005 as president, APC Japan, Inc. after a 26-year career with IBM. He will continue in that capacity, along with the new responsibility.
Commenting on the appointment, Ed Bednarcik, vice president, global sales, APC, said, "We are delighted to welcome David to APC's global fraternity. He would focus on adding Fortune 1000 clients to APC for long-term IT infrastructure engagements by leveraging the vast network he has built over the years in the industry. David would be an important asset for the company at its current juncture of growth in developing the highly promising Asia-Pacific markets."
During his tenure with IBM, Plumer held key general management
positions across several divisions, serving a wide range of multinational customers. These included multiple capacities covering manufacturing, sales, marketing, product operations and finance including over 12 years' experience living and working across Asia.
In his last assignment at IBM, Plumer was managing principal for IBM Global Services, leading worldwide teams in negotiating, signing and delivering multi-billion dollar IT optimization engagements.
Plumer holds an MBA in general management from the Amos Tuck
School of Business, Dartmouth and a BA in economics from the Union College, USA.
