New Delhi, Mar 11, 2007
After excelling well in the UPS segment, APC has entered the mobile accessories space with the launch of a host of mobile accessories ranging from power ready notebook cases to biometric password managers.
Pankaj Sharma, country general manager, APC India, said, "We thought it was a prefect timing for us to work on emerging trends and launch notebook and mobility solutions. We had taken into consideration availability, convenience, security and protection as the key considerations while working on the product line."
He also said another factor that is driving APC to the new space is the fact that the notebook market is growing steadily.
The increased purchasing power also has got the vendor to consider to getting into this market.
Sharma also said that in order to ensure reach out to the customers in the new space, APC has also devised its channel strategy wherein it would be targeting the retail segment.
APC will be categorizing the retail outlets as platinum, gold and silver based on parameters like location, footfalls and frontage. It will also have dedicated APC retails associates who will be provided extensive training.
"We are looking at 200 different retail associations as by the end of 200, these retail outlets would essentially consist of CE stores, large format stores as well as IT retail outlets," he said adding "lot of our partners have their expressed interest in the product range. We are at least looking to showcase our products 15 to 20 major IT retail outlets."
