Acer Brings in Desktops for Home Users

Acer has announced the launch of Acer Aspire IE-3216 and Acer Aspire IE-3460.The products are intended for design conscious home users. The machines include 19" wide TFT Display and speakers. The former is powered by Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor E2160 (1.8GHz), and the latter is power-driven by Intel Core 2 duo Desktop Processor E4600 (2.4 GHz).
The systems are equipped with a memory of 1 GB RAM DDR2, which can be upgraded to 2GB for enhanced performance, and 160GB SATA Hard Disk Drive at the rate of 7200 RPM. They even comprise a 16X DVD -R/W Super- Multi Drive that enables viewing of DVDs, listening to music and storing of data.
An interesting feature from the usage perspective is the 8 USB Ports (4 at the Top which is unique to Acer and 4 at the rear), which have Neon LED lighting (in front for convenience) to enable interfacing with variety of other I/O devices.
The Acer Aspire IE-3460 is pre-bundled with a 19" wide TFT Display, which reduces eye-fatigue and saves power; and a newly designed keyboard that sports 17 Hotkeys and a Volume Knob.
Both the equipment supplement an education CD pack .
According to S. Rajendra, chief marketing officer of Acer "The Acer Aspire IE-3460 and Aspire IE-3216 desktops are parts of Acer's initiative of providing customers with performance packed computer experience, chic design and superb sound on the same platform at the best available price."
With 1-year onsite warranty, Aspire IE-3460 is priced at Rs.25,999 and Aspire IE-3216 at Rs.22,999 ( inclusive of all taxes). Those are available at all Acer registered retail and channel outlets, Acer will employ its widespread network, of 2500 channel partners and 250 plus Acer branded retail outlets - as well as its alliances with key large format retail chains, to reach out to customers seeking affordable and state-of-the-art computing technology.
