Acer Launches Program for VAR Partners

Acer India, in its efforts to address the SMB and SME segment has launched a program called Star-VARS for select set of partners focused on this segment.
Acer has registered over 100 VAR partners under this program already and aiming at doubling this number by the end of Q3 2007.
The Star-VARs' program intends to organize the efforts of Acer VAR partners by effectively targeting Acer customers geographically. Through an account mapping system, this program will enables partners to grow in their respective locations. With this program Acer intends to help partners focus their efforts on their set of customers.
The Star-VARS partners will be entitled to a quarterly bonus on achieving the objectives. The vendor will also support partners with training, marketing support and lead generation activities to focus on the mapped accounts. An exclusive secured online engine will also be available for STAR VARS partners, which will be regularly updated with the latest schemes and product details available from Acer.
Speaking on the launch of the program, S Rajendran, general manager, sales and marketing, Acer India said, "The success of Acer initiatives over the last two years has primarily depended on our partners and their commitment to our brand. Their efforts have ensured that Acer's focus continues to be on bringing the solutions and services to our customers. Through this exclusive Star- VARS program we intend to consolidate our VAR network and chart out a new dimension to the value added initiative for deeper and better penetration in the SMB, SME and Corporate Space."
The Star VARs program is designed to enable VAR partners to reach out to Acer customers effectively, by offering them valuable solutions and services. Acer has over 3000 registered channel partners who can enroll for this program.

This program from Acer will be a major value add to the channels focussed on this small & medium businesses. They have gone about this program well and have clearly differentiated the model from their retail business. This is a good move and channel will only gain from this. Its not a 'khicdi mix' which we see with some others. Good luck acer. |
