Acer Makes Design Statement With New Notebooks

Acer has introduced two new distinctively-designed notebooks - Aspire Gemstone and TravelMate - to address the separate needs and expectations of consumer and commercial notebook users in India.
With the new Aspire notebooks, Acer offers Dolby Home Theater for virtual surround sound across the full line of consumer notebooks that run on the new Intel Centrino Duo platform.
"The new Aspire Gemstone notebook has a noticeably rounded and fuller shape; a bold diversion from the traditional squarish designs that focus on minimizing notebook thickness and weight," said W. S. Mukund, managing director of Acer India.
The PC maker is tailoring its notebook design and functionality for consumer and commercial market needs. According to S. Rajendran, general manager (sales and marketing) of Acer India, said, "The Aspire brand characteristics are easy and fun, while the TravelMate focuses on dependability for the mobile user."
With the launch of Acer's new notebook designs, users will now be able to choose from the many sleek form factors to suit their lifestyle and business needs, the company said.
