Acer has introduced its latest Gemstone series notebooks - Aspire 6920 and 8920 - in 16.1" and 18.1" models. Blue is the element that marks the design of this new series, named Aspire Gemstone Blue.
S. Rajendran, chief marketing officer, said, "Acer is once again setting a new design trend with the Acer Aspire 6920 and 8920 - built on 16" and 18" footprint, full HD CineCrystal LCD screens, 8 ms response time and native 16:9 resolution. The Aspire Gemstone Blue fuses eye-catching design, high-end technology and innovation into a notebook that pushes the boundaries of mobile high-definition."
The new series incorporates Intel Centrino processor technology featuring the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the mobile Intel T5550 and T7300 Express Chipset on the 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM, respectively; and the integrated module for wireless connection, supporting Acer SignalUp with InviLink Nplify wireless technologies.
The new notebooks also feature an HDMI port with HDCP support. In addition, the new series is equipped with Wide Color Gamut displays and delivers intense colors.
The notebooks integrates the second generation Dolby Home Theater technology with CineSurround, Tuba CineBass booster, and True5.1 output audio technologies. The Acer Tuba CineBass subwoofer exceeds 10 W.
The series features a 6-in-1 card reader that supports the most common card formats. By integrating a TV Tuner for digital television (on select models), the Aspire 6920 and 8920 provide a simple way to capture the interactive world of terrestrial digital and analogue television. Arcade Deluxe, Acer's multimedia software suite, helps users view and switch between channels with a clear and easy-to-use interface.
The new series is available with both 250GB and 320GB HDD and comes with a new touch-sensitive interface, the CineDash media console.
Aspire 6920 16.1" is priced at Rs.69,999 and 8920 18.1" Rs.79,999.
