Acro Engineering to Distribute MSI Wind NetOnPC

By Sandhya Malhotra
Delhi, Feb 13, 2009 1125 hrs IST

Delhi-based Acro Engineering will distribute Micro Star International's (MSI) first model of barebone Wind NetOn AP1900 PC in India. Started in September, the company is targeting SOHO, corporate and government for its products, and will compete with Simmtronics and other start ups in this segment.

While elaborating the go-to-market strategy for new PC, Sanyam Sethia, Marketing Supervisor India, MSI, said, "We will be positioning the new barebone PC through our existing channel partners, and it will be distributed by our existing national distributor Acro Engineering, who is also responsible for selling VGA cards. The new product category will broaden the product portfolio of Acro. We have no plans to get into retailing at this time."

The new PC is designed for such users who have space constraints, and are more style conscious, the company said.

MSI officially announced the Wind NetOn AP1900 all-in-one desktop PC, which is claimed to be the world's slimmest all-in-one. The Wind NetOn AP1900 is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and integrated GMA950 video chipset. It is available at the price range of Rs 40,000.

Last year, the company entered into notebook and netbook business. "We have been expanding our netbook and notebook with new models. We started off with two models, but now we have notebooks models ranging from Rs 18,000 to 80,000. On the netbook front, the company is getting supply of processor for 10-inch netbooks, and the supply of 8.9-inch netbook has been stopped in the market, said Sethia.

What do you think of this partnership?
