Aditya Focuses On Retail For Typhoon Speakers

By Sharmee Roy
New Delhi, May 9, 2006

Aditya Infotech, the Delhi-based distributor, is going in for a mix of CE and IT retail partners to push its Typhoon speaker range.

Initially, the distributor is looking to rope in about 400 to 500 retail partners across the country and has already started the process of appointing these partners.

Yogesh Dutta, country head-IT, Aditya Infotech, said, "We expect to have all the retail partners in place by June end. We are targeting about 30 to 35 percent contribution to the revenues through Typhoon speakers." Aditya will focus more on the western region, he said.

As part of its growth plans, Dutta said Aditya will launch four 2.1 models, four 5.1 models and one 4.1 model this month. All the new models will be positioned in the premium market segment.

"These are products which go really well in the retail segment. Our strategy and focus will be to push the speakers through retail partners across the country. The 5.1 speaker range go well with the CE channels and are more popular with them, while we will distribute the other models through the IT retail partners," Dutta said.

The new speakers will be priced in the range of Rs 2000 to Rs 7,000.

Incidentally, as part of its channel initiative, the distributor recently organized 'Interface 2006' wherein it took its best performing partners and their team to Istanbul to honor them.
What do you think of Aditya's Typhoon retail plan?
