Ajay Kumar on His Way Out
By
Prasanth Menon
Mumbai, Aug 4, 2007
Bringing an end to his 3 year stint as country manager of Aventail India, Ajay Kumar's on his way out from the company
Speaking to ChannelTimes, Kumar said, "I put in my papers on July 31 and currently I'm serving my notice period, ending August 14." Kumar attributed his decision to better career opportunities and other personal reasons.
Earlier this year, Aventail - a provider of market-leading SSL VPN remote access solutions - had been aquired by Sonicwall - a provider of IT security and data backup and recovery solutions - for approximately US $25 million, in cash.
Referring to his next venture, Kumar said, "Most probably, I'm moving on to a large IT firm, which is primarily into computing and storage, by August 16."
With over 9 years of experience in the IT industry, Ajay Kumar has been responsible for leading and growing Aventail's business in India. He juggles between multiple functions such as pre-sales, sales, product evaluations, and training, in addition to being the spokesperson for Aventail India.
Kumar, who's a computer engineer from Karnataka University and MBA in marketing, has previously worked with Ramco Systems, Blue Star, Deldot Systems, Godrej, and Boyce and is a guest lecturer at IIM-B
