Alok Ohrie Takes over as President of EMC India

Alok Ohrie will succeed Manoj Chugh as the president of EMC (India and SAARC region). Ohrie, a 20-year IT industry veteran in India, joins EMC from AMD. Manoj Chugh has been promoted to lead the Global Accounts Practice for EMC in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Prior to joining AMD, Ohrie spent 13 years with IBM Global Services India, in a number of executive management positions, including director of the Systems and Technology Group for India and South Asia. During the early part of his career, Ohrie worked at Wipro InfoTech and ESPL Limited. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Technology (formerly REC) Suratkal.
According to Ron Goh, president, EMC South Asia, "I'm pleased to announce someone of Alok's caliber as our new leader for India. Alok's extensive technology and leadership experience will continue to position India as both a source of innovation and revenue growth for EMC."
Ohrie brings 20 years of IT-industry focused business-management experience to EMC. He will lead EMC's India, SAARC sales and service organizations with responsibility for the region's total revenue, its current and future customers, and EMC's various partners. Ohrie will work closely with Sarv Saravanan, who is responsible for EMC's Centre of Excellence based in Bangalore, to expand its products and services capabilities in India.
