Altera Appoints David Shen VP, Asia Pacific Region

Altera announced that David Shen has joined the company as the regional vice president & managing director for Asia-Pacific Region. Shen will be based at the Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.
George Papa, senior vice president, worldwide sales, Altera, said, "Shen's semiconductor industry and management expertise will be a key component in expanding our Asia Pacific market presence. Shen's experience will be key as our customers in the region continue to leverage the benefits of programmable logic."
Shen has over 18 years of semiconductor technical services, engineering, sales & marketing management experience. Most recently, Shen was vice president, technical marketing of Asia Pacific for Arrow Electronics. At Arrow, Shen managed technical services, advanced technology, corporate marketing and supplier development. Shen's previous experience includes management positions at ON Semiconductor in Asia Pacific and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories.
Shen said, "As manufacturing and design activity in Asia Pacific continues to grow at a rapid rate, Altera is well-positioned to take advantage of the many opportunities for programmable logic. I look forward to growing Altera's already extensive customer base in the region."
