Bartronics Rolls-out Smart Cards-based Products

To tap the ongoing boom of smart cards industry in India, Bartronics India has rolled-out four new products based on smart cards. Launched in the ongoing Smartcards Expo 08 in New Delhi, these products are targeted toward the embedded application developers/software companies and end-users.
Commenting on this product launch, Sudhir Rao, MD, Bartronics India, said, "We expect most of the software companies working on embedded systems technology to adopt BIL operating systems over the next 2-3 years."
Through this move, the company hopes to consolidate its position in the smart cards industry. The newly-launched products include:
Bil-blue Ice: This off-the-shelf generic smart cards operating system can be used for multiple applications: financial inclusion, ePurse applications, loyalty applications and mass transit applications.
Bil-cos: This system can be used in driving license, RC book, national ID and RSBY applications.
Bil-camp: This system delivers campus applications.
Bil-SIM: This system is targeted toward south Asian GSM operators and service providers
All these systems come with development kits including smart card readers and sample cards. According to a recent study, the smart cards industry is growing at a CAGR of almost 30% in India.
