Bharadwaj Becomes Senior VP of Canon India

Canon India has promoted Alok Bharadwaj as its senior vice president. Prior to this, he was the vice president of the company.
As senior vice president, Bharadwaj will be responsible for leading the overall performance of 5 business divisions of the company. Also, he will be heading the fifth business division of corporate sales - Consumer Imaging and Information division (CII). This new division will be responsible for connecting to the top 100 corporate accounts across the country.
Bharadwaj joined Canon as a director in 2001 to head the printer products division - Consumer Systems Products (CSP). He was given additional charge of camera products called Image Communications Products (ICP) division in 2003. The third business division of copier products called Business Imaging Solutions Division (BIS) was given to him in 2005 while he was promoted as a vice president. In 2006, Bharadwaj took charge of the 4th business division of direct sales operations.
During his six-year tenure at Canon India, Bharadwaj has been the driving force behind the company's sales, marketing, PR and brand building activities. Canon India recorded its best growth of 35 per cent in 2007 during his tenure as the vice-president.
An industry veteran with over 22 years of experience, he has led sales and marketing initiatives across diverse businesses and industries like consumer durables, telecom and IT.
