Mumbai, Jun 22, 2005
Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. has announced that it has established new offices in New Delhi and Mumbai, to address the growing regional market requirements for Storage Area Network (SAN) products and expertise in deploying network storage infrastructure in IT data centers.
The company also announced that Shyam Gopal has been named country manager for India. Based in Delhi, Gopal is responsible for managing the company's business operations and sales and marketing activities in the region. Before joining Brocade, Gopal was the SEA/India sales director for Network Associates, and was responsible for establishing that company's operations in India.
"As one of the most popular regions in the world for outsourcing IT services, data centers in India are experiencing rapid growth, and with this comes growing complexity," said Deb Dutta, vice president of Brocade Asia Pacific. "IT organizations are increasingly focused on reducing these complexities to improve operational efficiency, which will, in turn, drive demand for smart SAN strategies. Brocade SAN expertise and experience will be a valued asset to our partners and end-users who must address these complexities to remain competitive."
Brocade plans to offer its comprehensive SAN education in India. This education program includes the high-value Brocade Certified SAN Professional program and the SAN Health tool, which is a diagnostic utility that documents and monitors IT resources in a SAN fabric.
