Brother Plans to Expand Product Range & Network
By
Sharmee Roy
New Delhi, Jun 17, 2006
Brother International has lined up a bouquet of products comprising MFCs, laser printers and faxes for launch over the year and is now working on channel-centric initiatives. The company also plans to extend its partner network in India.
Vishal Sriwastav, country manager, Brother International (India), said, "With the Indian market in a growth stage for multifunction and laser printers, we are upbeat about the potential and are confident of leveraging our technological edge. We will be launching about a dozen products across categories this year. The company plans to expand in the country in terms of people, products and partners, thus effectively enhancing its operations in the country."
The company is focused on creating effective distribution and reaching out to more and more places. It is currently on the verge of concluding one such program titled 'Lead Empower Achieve Perform (LEAP)-2006'. A national channel meet aimed at enhancing its channel strength beyond the first tier.
"Having created a basic awareness, and also receiving encouraging response from the market to our products, we now plan to augment our existing range in MFDs and laser printers (Soho and enterprise class), thus offering the customers with a wide choice across price points to satisfy their needs. We want to leverage our 'value for money' (VFM) proposition for customers through better TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)," Sriwastav said.
He added, "We would be happy at initially achieving the third position in the respective segments of MFDs and laser printers for a start. We are also effectively leveraging our technology and product superiority in markets across the country, such that the customers can source our range of products and experience the quality, performance and reliability of Brother products. We will then automatically move upwards."
Brother's partners in India include Kores for P-Touch label printers, Godrej for fax machines and MFCs, Lipi Data Systems as a National Corporate Partner for laser printers and Accel ICIM as the national service provider.
