Buffalo, a manufacturer of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions, announced the launch of its new compact, fan-less, network attached, dual-drive data storage device from its LinkStation line in India.
With up to 1 TB of network storage, the LinkStation Mini provides a space-saving solution for storing and sharing large amounts of digital content such as photos, music, videos and data files across your network.
With an easy-to-use setup and responsive interface, the company said, the built-in Web Access feature seamlessly integrates your digital library, pulling content from a LinkStation Mini for instant playback.
"With the Indian market gearing up for an i-phone rage, users will enjoy the benefits of Buffalo s LinkStation as a value-added service. Users are looking for more digital entertainment in terms or movies, music or TV programming on the move" said Kazuhiro Tabuchi, country manager, India at Buffalo. "The storage capacity of i-phones is now not restricted to a mere 16 GB and it enables the user to store large volume of data and access it on an i-phone sitting anywhere," he added.
In addition to streaming content to a iPhone, the LinkStation Mini's Web Access can provide users easy access to their digital content stored on the device from anywhere in the world via a web browser.
The fanless LinkStation Mini provides complete data redundancy through its dual drive RAID 1 configuration. In addition, for users with a large media library the company has included DLNA server by TwonkyVision, so they can stream files through any DLNA-compatible media player.
The device also includes a Remote Power Feature, which can power up the unit remotely with the included Navigator software. The extra USB port allows users to add an additional external hard drive for expanded capacity or a printer that can then be shared via the integrated print server. It also supports UPS so the unit can gracefully shut down in the event of a power failure. The product measures only 1.57 x 3.22 x 5.31 inches and weighs a slight 1.1 pounds.
Backed by a limited one-year warranty that includes toll-free 24/7 technical support, the LinkStation Mini is now available at estimated street prices of Rs.27,800 for the 500 GB (LS-WS500GL/R1) and Rs.55,600 for the 1TB (LS-WS1.0TGL/R1).
