Buffalo Unveils 3TB TeraStation NAS Devices

By ChannelTimes Staff
International Desk, Jul 12, 2007

Buffalo - the Japan-based provider of wired and wireless networking, storage, and memory solutions - announced the 3TB version of its high performance consumer and SMB NAS devices TeraStation Live (HS-DH3.0TGL/R5) and TeraStation Pro II (TS-H3.0TGL/R5) - for home and office environments.

The TeraStation Live is designed for home users who want to store and share or stream multimedia files such as music, media backups, family videos, and photos around the home. Its added multimedia features include an iTunes 7 support and Direct Copy functionality. The product is now available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB, and 3TB.

The TeraStation Pro II is designed for Small and Medium-sized Businesses and Home Office users (SMB/SOHO) that require a cost-effective, high-performance NAS device, which delivers superior performance and reliability. It supports Active Directory integration to allow the TeraStation Pro II to utilize domain users and groups by working as a client member in an Active Directory domain.

Both of Buffalo's latest NAS devices deliver data transfer rates of up to 35MB/s and feature 5 operating modes (Standard, RAID 0/1/5/10), ensuring security of valuable data. The advanced RAID features also allow for email warnings when there is a system fault, scheduled RAID checks, and continuous monitoring of the file system.

Backed by a limited 1-year warranty, both the 3TB TeraStation Live (HS-DH3.0TGL/R5) and the 3TB TeraStation Pro II (TS-H3.0TGL/R5) are now available at an estimated street price of Rs.1,40,000. The TeraStation Live can be purchased through national distributor Advent Infotech, and dealers of Buffalo in India.
