CA Presents Recovery Management Software

In order to simplify management, tighten security and facilitate speed recovery of critical business information, CA has rolled out an information recovery management software.
The software includes CA ARCserve Backup, CA XOsoft High Availability (formerly CA XOsoft WANSyncHA) and CA XOsoft Replication (formerly CA XOsoft WANSync). According to the company, it offers channel partners and their customers the latest advances in data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery.
"Our customers require recovery management solutions that solve their problems and are easy to deploy, use and maintain - we are enabling our channel partners to address these needs head on," says Pravir Arora, director (Channels) of CA India.
Contextually according to a company communique, CA ARCserve Backup delivers comprehensive data protection with centralized management and advanced features - designed to address changing business needs. This software solution combines innovative disk and tape backup with powerful, integrated anti-virus and encryption tools, making it one of the most secure 'out-of-the-box' backup solutions. The other features of the software includes Centralized Management capabilities - to simplify administration of both local and remote backup through a single console. Its Improved Encryption capabilities protect critical business information from internal and external threats. The Enhanced VMware integration facility provides increased levels of data protection and backup efficiency within virtual environments. The other feature - Advanced Reporting provides administrators actionable information to quickly optimize and troubleshoot their backup environment. Extended Virtual Tape Library and Disk Management capabilities simplify and speed up the recovery process.
The communique also informs - New ARCserve catalog database takes full advantage of Microsoft SQL Server to improve manageability, reliability and speed recovery. Broader platform, media and application support make it easier for customers to deploy ARCserve across their diverse IT environment. Enhanced integration with CA XOsoft products provides seamless administration of both replicas and backup jobs within one recovery management solution.
"Having used the CA XOsoft Wansync solution, we feel we have achieved our goals for exchange disaster recovery. The Recovery Time Objective (RTO) now is maximum 30 minutes and the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is effectively 0,"says Mandar Marulkar, chief information security officer and Head (Business Continuity Management) of KPIT Cummins.
