COM-IT 08: A Launch Pad for New Models and Brands

The IT exhibition of Mumbai, the Com-IT Expo 2008 turned out to be a launching pad for both the new brands and models.
Logitech used the platform to showcase its latest products like Z5 and LS11series of speakers, Sphere AF, Vision Pro for Mac, S 7500 E3500 and S5500 range of webcams, and also diNovo Mini palm sized keyboard. On the other hand, Asus had displayed its latest Rampage II motherboard, and the Eee box,
The new elements on the shelf of Cannon were LBP 3018B range of laser printers and iP 1980 range of inkjet printer. And APC had the BR1000-EN BANK-UPS.
Many new big and small vendors were seen sharing the exhibition space. Like, Kolkata-based RP Infosystems had a separate stall, showcasing Chirag brand and also marking their entry in the Mumbai (western) region after the eastern and northern region.
Rakesh Tiwari, Senior Manager Channel & Sales shared his objective for exhibiting in Com-IT expo. He said, "We want to build Chirag Brand in western region and are scouting for partners and regional distributors."
Another new member in the exhibition is China-based manufacturer of Networking equipments-Sinfor Technologies. Laref An, Sales Manager of International Marketing Dept. informed that India is their one of the key markets for this year. He added, "In a span of 6-8 months, we plan to establish ourselves. We are looking ahead at distribution deals with one-two national distributors and also establish a local office in Mumbai."
Gujrat-based thin client manufacturer, Enjay Network Solutions, was also among the new participants, demonstrating its latest Enterprise OS thin client with embedded Linux OS.
Ruchi Infotech, provider of chip level repair for hardware components was also a new one. Jayesh Master, CEO, Ruchi Infotech said, "We aim to inform vendors and dealers about our services. Today we have only one center in Mumbai, but our plan is to move to other geographies in the country. We are currently, planning to open up our second office in Gujarat."
Ruchi Infotech has a team of 40 certified engineers, who provide chip-level repair for the components. It has tied up with around 100 dealers in and around Mumbai, who generate leads for the company. Now, it is looking forward at signing deals with hardware vendors.
Vardhaman Technology, the owner of Panche brand, was also one of the new participants. Amit Rambhia, Director, Vardhaman Technology said, "We recently did the registration of the Panache brand. It was therefore the best platform to launch our products." The company has launched its Micro Power PC, Micro PC and Balck Current range of ultra small desktop based on Intel's Atom.
Other new brands are Skabletie, the hook and loop cable manufacturing company, and Smart Signals that provides GPS-based vehicle tracking solutions.
Mumbai-based Maxtone Electronics had displayed nettop, based on Intel Atom. Since, this is the launch of the product; its pricing is yet to be declared.
Starting today, the exhibition will continue for another three days. It will host seminars covering various topics like unified communications, enhancing protection through recovery, Security management, remote infrastructure management, changing face of IT channels, Storage trends, surviving the slowdown, powering the business with Genuine Microsoft software.
