In an effort to address an office environment's demand for print management software, Canon has launched its latest software offering, uniFLOW Output Manager. Modular and configurable, the uniFLOW Output Manager can be easily customized to fit the exact needs of a wide range of businesses and industries. The software incorporates several features including secure printing, remote tracking capabilities, desktop accounting and automatic job routing.
"Cost-control and security are two blazing needs of businesses today, and the uniFlow Output Manager is designed to help businesses to streamline printing processes leading to cost management and enhanced security. The combination of Canon multi-function devices (MFD) and the uniFLOW Output Manager helps businesses to better manage their print resources and operate in a seamless manner. The new software enables businesses to utilize their existing print devices to its full potential that results in better management of their print fleet. By leveraging on existing print resources, businesses achieve cost control and increased print uptime boosts productivity as well," said K Bhaskar, Director (Direct Sales Operations, Business Imaging Solutions), Canon India.
The uniFLOW addresses information security issues by providing users with security mechanisms to manage the output of sensitive information. Print jobs are held at the server and only authorised personnel can print and retrieve their printouts. The 'My Print Anywhere' feature enables users collect their printouts at the Canon MFD of their choice for greater convenience.
Moreover, the software allows users to use various types of identification systems. It can be easily integrated with biometric devices such as fingerprint sensors, card readers using contact-less and magnetic cards and keyboard PIN identification.
The combination of uniFLOW Output Manager with Canon MFD ensures that printing charges are accurately accounted according to user, workgroup or department. It also allows administrators to efficiently maximize output resources. In addition, administrators and managers are able to set control perimeters on the types of print jobs each employee is able to perform.
