Canon India, the digital imaging company, has launched an 11-city free customer service camps for printers.
Started on September 18, the camps will cover Jaipur and New Delhi in the North, Kolkata and Guwahati in the East, Mumbai, Pune and Goa in the West, and Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi in the South. The program finishes on Dec 21, 2008.
The service camps will be conducted in strategic locations in these cities to help more and more customers conveniently reach these destinations and avail this opportunity, the company said.
Commenting on this service initiative, Alok Bharadwaj, senior vice president, Canon India, said, "At Canon we consider service as a key differentiator for our products. The free service is our way of proactively reaching out to customers and reassuring them that the company cares." Apart from free service, through these camps, the company also intends to educate customers how to maintain healthier printers and run them cost-effectively, Bharadwaj added.
The customers can just walk into any service camp with their product to avail the free service.
According to V. P. Sajeevan, assistant director, consumer system products division, the free camps will also highlight the issues of ill-effects of refilled cartridges and the eventual cost increases on using the same. He added, "This will also be an ideal ground for channel partners to re-connect with their existing customers."
Shamim Qadri, assistant director, market engineering, added, "This camp is one more step towards educating customers on proper usage and better maintenance to extend the life of their printers."
