Corel Corporation, a developer of graphics and digital media software, has announced the compatibility of its Corel WinDVD with ATI Radeon HD 4870 and ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics processors.
Corel WinDVD utilizes the GDDR3 or GDDR5 graphics card memory with approximately 4 GHz DDR, a 256-bit memory controller, second generation Unified Video Decoder support, advanced image enhancement and dual-stream hardware acceleration for enhanced video performance.
Denise MacDonell, senior director (Product Management - Digital Media) of Corel, said, "We are pleased Corel WinDVD is among the first video, DVD and Blu-ray Disc playback software products to support the latest ATI Radeon HD 4800 series graphics processors. Corel WinDVD with the ATI Radeon HD 4800 series graphics processors decodes two video streams simultaneously providing effortless playback of full HD content, even when viewing picture-in-picture content from Blu-ray Discs on a HD-enabled monitor."
Corel WinDVD is available to OEMs immediately, and will be available to retail customers at the beginning of late summer 2008.
