Mumbai, Jul 2, 2007
Ending his 10-year association with networking major Cisco Systems earlier last month, industry veteran - Jangoo Dalal has assumed responsibility as the managing director and chief executive officer for another networking biggie - D-Link India.
Following this appointment, K. R. Naik, the current chairman and managing director, will assume the role of the executive chairman and continue to define and lead the company's growth strategy across the region.
Confirming the appointments, Tony Tsao, president of D-Link International said, "Jangoo Dalal's appointment as the new MD and CEO at D-Link India would help us drive forward our growth plans for the region, particularly by leveraging his experience across these markets and product segments. Additionally, with K. R. Naik's astute leadership at the helm, we expect to reinforce our leadership position in India."
Joining D-Link, Jangoo Dalal said, "I am truly excited about the opportunity that India presents to us today. D-Link, with its integrated strategy of local R&D, manufacturing, and extensive sales and service network is truly poised to serve the Indian customer's needs. I look forward to the eventful journey that lies ahead of us."
While commenting on his new role, K. R. Naik said, "As the executive chairman, I would continue to help the company explore new opportunities in expanding our portfolio both geographically and through new products and technologies." Naik said that Dalal's induction into the team would give him some more time to explore new avenues for the company, both strategically and operationally.
Dalal's immediate prior assignment was as president and country manager - Cisco Systems (India) for its India and SAARC operations. Prior to this, he was country head of Enterprise - India and SAARC regions of Cisco Systems. Dalal has also served as the head (strategy and operations) of Channel Organization at Cisco. Overall, he spent 10 years in various roles at Cisco, being part of driving its stupendous growth in India.
Dalal is an industry veteran with more than 20 years experience in the technology industry. Before joining Cisco in 1997, he served as marketing manager at Wipro-British Telecom. Dalal graduated from St. Xavier's in Mumbai and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Bombay University.

Bringing people from cisco again & again is not going to help dlink in anyway.Other networking vendors are taking away the once dlink market share. SI's /resellers are not interested anymore in pitching or quoting or selling dlink as they are not able to make money. |

Congrats D-Link!!!
D-Link has been seeing many changes in the management/marketing team in the past but the channel does not seem to be very happy about it.
This move of D-Link appears to be be smart but my personal opinion is the channel shall wait and watch, what is good in this for the channel...
My best wishes for KRN and his team... |
