D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, has unveiled two KVM switches - DKVM-4U and DKVM-8E - for SOHO and SMB segments. As per the company, these switches offers cost effective solution for control of several servers in a computer room, allowing an engineer to handily manipulate all connected computers from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse.
Users can switch quickly between the individual client computers by pushing a button on the KVM switch or by pressing the hot keys on their keyboard.
The D-Link KVM switches are available in 2, 4, 8 and 16 port models. Some of the key features of DKVM-4U are VGA/SVGA monitor support, USB connection to keyboard & mouse, connects up to 4 servers/PCs, PC/server selection through push button or hot key command and automatic scanning of PCs every 10 seconds.
On the other hand the DKVM-8E allows users to control eight computers from one keyboard, mouse and monitor, and its daisy-chain ports allows control over as many as 64 computers through 8 banks of DKVM-8E units. Furthermore, its on-screen display menu gives the user a visual interface to name and select computers. The DKVM-8E supports VGA, SVGA and MultiSync monitors at up to 1920 x 1440 resolution.
The DKVM-4U and DKVM-8E are available in the market at an approximate street price of Rs. 4,620 and Rs.13,200 respectively.
