D-Link to Launch 'Made in India' Videophone

D-Link India has announced the launch of IP Videophone GVC-3000. The phone features built-in LCD screen. This stand-alone device does not require a computer, TV or high bandwidth. As per a company communique, it uses advanced video compression technology and maximizes the image and audio quality within the available bandwidth.
This videophone incorporates cutting-edge technology and is compliant with all international standards, claims the company. The product has been manufactured entirely in India at the Goa Plant.
Present at the occasion, K R Naik, executive chairman, D-Link India, said, "This is a proud moment for Indian R&D and the Indian hardware industry. D-Link India started operation with a small manufacturing unit in 1995 and a R&D center in 2001. Our commitment to development of new generation products has finally been able to bear fruits of success. We started working on VoIP technology about 3 years back, today our gifted technical minds have been able to design and develop a truly world class videophone. The product incorporates cutting edge technology and I'm sure it will be well accepted both in India as well as in global markets."
