Datacraft, a IT services and solutions company, plans to offer a broad range of datacenter virtualization and consolidation services based on VMware's datacenter virtualization and management suite, VMware Infrastructure, for clients throughout Asia Pacific.
This new partnership aims to address the need among businesses for more efficient server utilization and reduced datacenter footprint, in the face of mounting pressure to cut costs, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
According to Andy Cocks, Datacraft's director for solutions and alliance, datacenters in many Asian companies are getting increasingly crowded, as corresponding new servers are added, resulting in challenges such as limited floor space; inadequate server cooling; slow application provisioning; ineffective backup and disaster recovery and low server utilisation rates.
"By working with VMware, we are now able to address our clients' datacenter virtualization requirements more holistically. The VMware platform allows Datacraft to help companies more easily manage the operations of their datacenter. This process results in greater efficiency and allows the number of servers in a datacenter to be consolidated - saving money, space and increased capacity for future growth," said Cocks.
"We are pleased to be working with Datacraft to implement server virtualization for its extensive blue-chip clientele across 13 countries in Asia Pacific," said Manish Sharma, senior director, VMware."We value our relationship with Datacraft and aim to continue providing partners like Datacraft with the tools and services they need to deliver top-notch virtualization solutions."
VMware is a global provider of virtualization solutions from the desktop to the datacenter. The company has a strong presence across India with offices in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai.
