Mumbai, Jul 12, 2008
LG and Displaylink recently launched a new 22-inch LCD USB monitor with integrated Displaylink technology. This new addition to LG's product portfolio, the LG Windows Vista compatible L226WU-PF, uses Displaylink's DL-160 network display device and software technology. With this, it enables up to 6 extra screens to be connected to any PC or laptop via a standard USB 2.0 connection. Displaylink's technology can also be found in LG's 20" FlatronWide L206WU model.
According to the company, Displaylink's plug-and-play technology allows exceptional performance across multiple screens. With built-in auto-install software, the L226WU-PF includes a wide screen panel supporting a 1680 x 1050 resolution, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a five millisecond response time.
Commenting on the launch, Hamid Farzaneh, president and CEO of Displaylink, said, "We're thrilled that LG is rapidly expanding its line of USB connected displays in partnership with Displaylink. In-Stat research projects that USB network displays will exceed 26 million units and 40 million units in 2010 and in 2011 respectively, and LG is among the key forward-thinking display companies leading this major paradigm shift."
The L226WU-PF is now available in Europe.
