EMC Announces Support for Oracle Database 11g

EMC - the information infrastructure solution provider - announced planned support for Oracle Database 11g.
As a Certified Advantage Partner (CAP) in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, EMC has been an active participant in the Oracle Database 11g Beta Program, helping customers take advantage of the benefits of Oracle Database 11g.
Chuck Hollis, vice president (Technology Alliances) of EMC, said, "EMC customers like what they see in Oracle Database 11g and our investment in testing and qualification will enable them to deploy it seamlessly." With its decade-plus experience in large-scale Oracle environments, Hollis said that EMC is prepared to support production customers through the EMC Oracle Joint Escalation Center.
Customers will be able to deploy Oracle Database 11g across all of EMC's major platforms including EMC Symmetrix, EMC CLARiiON, and EMC Celerra networked storage systems.
According to Willie Hardie, vice president (Database Product Marketing) of Oracle, Oracle Database 11g delivers an extensive set of new features and capabilities that raise users' quality of service standard across the board for all types of database applications. He added, "Working with EMC to perform interoperability testing of Oracle Database 11g with EMC's networked storage platforms provides a unique level of validation for our customers deploying EMC Information Infrastructure for Oracle."
The new capabilities in Oracle Database 11g help customers reduce storage costs and augment the recently announced EMC Information Infrastructure for Oracle offerings that help mutual customers realize business efficiencies, the company said in a release.
EMC will continue to release new solutions based upon Oracle Database 11g in support of the EMC Information Infrastructure for Oracle offerings.
