Epson India, which recently launched its latest all-in-one printer (CX5500), has reiterated its stance to make better quality products available at more affordable prices.
Ram Prasad, business manager (Consumer Product Group) of Epson India, said that the focus of their recent technological developments has been on 2 key areas: 1; offering affordable printers and multifunction printers with ease of use to end users, and 2; ink - that according to the company, is the heart of the printer.
Speaking to ChannelTimes, Prasad said that the company is constantly improving its channel engagement by reducing the number of layers in the distribution channel. In addition to that, he said, "For our entry level single-function and multi-function printers, the new range comes with water, fade, and smudge resistant DURABrite Ultra inks, which are extremely affordable at just Rs.250 per cartridge."
The newly launched CX5500 mainly targets students, home users, and SOHO for their everyday printing, photocopying, and scanning needs, and is priced at a distributor's price of Rs.4,999.
Prasad also said that the company's current focus is on selling to end customers with continued emphasis on IT retail, as well as retail as a segment. "We're also looking to constantly improve service levels and maintain constant touch with our existing customers," he added.
Commenting on the service initiatives that the company has taken, Prasad informed that today there are 221 Epson Authorized service centers in 139 cities and towns across the country. He added that the service centers are equipped with SAP based Customer Relations Management (CRM) software across the country for enhanced customer satisfaction levels.
