Epson, the global provider of digital imaging and printing solutions, has launched the Epson Stylus Pro 3885 A2+ professional photo printer in the Indian market. The new printer is the successor to the Epson Stylus Pro 3850 (also known as the Epson Stylus Pro 3850 in Epson South amd Southeast Asia) that had won the TIPA "Best Expert Photo Printer" Award in 2007.
Targeting the professional artists and photographers segment, the new Epson Stylus Pro 3850 claims to add more colors in its offerings, by use of new Epson's UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink set. The ink set features newly developed vivid magenta and light magenta inks that increase color accuracy and add vibrancy and impact to photos especially in the deep blue-magenta range. The new model supports a range of print sizes up to A2+ in compact chassis that can easily fit on a desktop. The printer also offers three levels of black ink black, light black and light light black. It also features Epson Micro Piezo print head with Variable-Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT). The VSDT allows the print head to eject ink droplets in three sizes.
Speaking during the launch of the product, Sambamoorthy, senior general manager sales & marketing, Epson India, said, "We are confident that the printer's color accuracy and print quality will continue to please demanding professional photographers." Epson Stylus Pro 3885 A2+ can be shared among users through a network with its Ethernet connection and can print on a range of media sizes and types from 4 x 6-inch to A4, A3 and A2 sized proofing, photographic and fine art media.
The Epson Stylus Pro 3885 is priced at Rs 76,999 and will be available from January 2010, the company stated in a release.
