Former HP India MD to Head APJ Territory

HP has appointed Balu Doraisamy as the managing director for Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) and senior vice president for the Technology Solutions Group (TSG). Doraisamy will start acting on his new role with immediate effect, and he will be based in Singapore.
Prior to Doraisamy, Tom Iannotti - who has returned to USA to assume the role of managing director for America used to perform the role.
Doraisamy has more than 23 years of experience with HP, most recently as managing director of HP India. In his APJ managing director role, Balu will be responsible for continuing the focus on creating value for HP's customers and profitable growth together with the region leadership team.
"We are pleased to have an HP leader of Balu's caliber take over the responsibility of leading the team in Asia Pacific and Japan," said Ann Livermore, executive vice president (Technology Solutions Group) of HP. "His impressive track record and years of experience as a country manager position him to build on HP's success in the geography."
Balu previously served as the managing director of Compaq Computer India. Before this assignment, he was based in Singapore for 9 years where he managed the Asia Pacific Global Accounts business in Digital and Compaq. Balu joined Digital Equipment Corporation, USA, in 1984 as Senior Technology Consultant, based at Nashua, NH.
Balu holds a post-graduate degree in computer science and a master's degree in Mathematics.
