Fortinet, a provider of Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions, has expanded its FortiGate 3000 Series of multi-threat security appliances by introducing FortiGate-3810A and FortiGate-3016B.
The company also launched a series of expansion modules to meet or exceed the throughput requirements of enterprise and Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) applications.
"Next-generation networks and bandwidth-intensive applications are changing the way people and businesses use the internet, but also bring about higher requirements for security and performance. With the introduction of our new FortiGate systems, Fortinet is addressing these demands," said Richard Stiennon, chief marketing officer of Fortinet.
The new FortiGate systems deliver up to 26 Gbps of firewall performance, ideally suited for network core and data center deployments. Further, the appliances also address the stringent requirements of service providers seeking to build service offerings based on the FortiGate platform.
The new systems accommodate the option of modular Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) expansion, which provides hardware accelerated 10 gigabit XFP interfaces as well as gigabit SFP interfaces and hard drive storage options.
The FortiGate-3810A, FortiGate-3016B and the related modules will be available through Fortinet's network of channel partners worldwide.
