Fujitsu Looks to Extend Reach With Redington
By

Mumbai, Aug 17, 2006
After its national distribution tieup with Salora in June this year, IT and communications solution provider Fujitsu today announced its partnership with Redington to enhance its market outreach in India.
Announcing the partnership, Sashi Kanth, general manager-India, Fujitsu Asia, said, "We are pleased to partner with Redington India for distribution of our product lines across the country. With Redington as our national-level distributor, not only can we stock, sell and support the IT infrastructure products country-wide, but also bring into fold the vast skill-set that is available in the Tier II partner community. Fujitsu was looking for a partner who had the infrastructure not only for channel sales, but also for service support and Redington fits the profile well."
"The partnership will benefit both companies greatly as Fujitsu would bring to table the requirements of global customers and Redington, in turn, would bring the excellent reach that they have through the vast reseller network it has established across the country," said J. S. Kulkarni, CEO-Redington India.
Rizwan, head for Fujitsu business, Redington, and Srinivasan, channels manager, Fujitsu, will handle the operations.
The endeavor of this partnership is to grow the business and carry forward a long-term relationship in support, services and other gamut of offerings into the country. The alliance is expected to bring about a very timely and refreshing change in Fujitsu's channel business in terms of approach, commitment and deliverables.
Redington has put into place a dedicated team to drive the business through their channel partners in their respective geographical locations.
At present, the partnership has been formalized only in India, but both parties are exploring the possibility of extending it to the neighboring countries.
Fujitsu will strongly focus on the global MNC customers and together with Redington would offer the entire range of products which are now sold by Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd. This includes the Intel based PRIMERGY servers, Intel Itanium based PRIMEQUEST servers, RISC based PRIMEPOWER servers and Eternus storage products.
According to Aditya Mahajan, national sales manager, Salora, "Though Salora and Redington are both national distributors for Fujitsu, they do not clash with each other as each handles a different set of products and will independently manage the promotions, sales and support issues."
