Fujitsu Revamps India Opns, to Appoint Channel Manager

By Sandhya Malhotra
Delhi, Jun 09, 2009 1737 hrs IST

Fujitsu India is all set to ramp its India operations under the newly-appointed CEO, Pallab Talukdar. Now, the company will focus on dynamic infrastructure solutions under volume and enterprise business. Along with channel engagements, the company is likely to have new channel manager by the end of this month.

While sharing channel strategies, Talukdar, CEO, Fujitsu India, said, "Before foraying into IT segment in 2006, we were into telecom space. This year we will do away with our traditional business approach, and will shift focus on offering end-to-end integrated business solutions for volume/client business including desktop, notebooks and workstation; and enterprise solutions comprising server, storage and services. Both our businesses will be driven by channel partners. Presently, we are in the process of evaluating our previous partnership with national and regional distributors, which are very ad-hoc/informal in nature. Now, we are trying to bring a formal and structured ecosystem of channel partner, and we will honor our previous informal channel partners."

Fujitsu will adopt national and regional distribution model for volume business, and large SIs and service providers for enterprise solutions. On the previous pending service and backend issues of channel partners, Talukdar said, "We are aware of backend and service support issue of our channel partners. We will resolve and clear them in due course."

Moreover, Fujitsu has been going under restructuring phase. Currently company has 60 headcounts in its offices located in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. While the appointment of a new channel manager on cards by the end of June 2009, i will add 10 more people on board. Presently, Bangalore-based R. Srinivasan has been handling the volume business.

Mark Wilson, Senior Vice President, Sales Region Middle East, Africa & India, Fujitsu Technology Solutions, said, "We will be investing aggressively in the Indian market over the next few years, and intend to become a dominant player to our partners and an integral part of our customers IT strategies."

What do you think of Fujitsu's move?

Dear Sir, we have done Fujitsu through Salora Internationa and so we had done good numbers, but the support service from your end is BIG '0' -- even a single case of faulty adaptor is not resolved in 6 months for a laptop carrying 3 years warranty, customers have lodged case in consumer forum
