Geneva Software Looks for Channel Expansion
By
Sharmee Roy
Mumbai, May 12, 2008
Geneva Software is looking to rope in regional distributors in the market for its Geneva E2C (Enterprise to Customer). Based on patented technology 'vivid', E2C supports more than 100 languages on all electronic display, irrespective of device constraint. And in Indian context, this software supports 11 languages, which includes Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Assamese and Bengali.
Speaking to Channeltimes, Rajeev Saxena, senior vice president, marketing and sales, Geneva Software, said, "We are looking at both telecom as well as IT partners for our product. The idea would be - target partners who would have a retail outlet. We would have demo units along with in-shop branding."
In the first phase, the company will appoint 16 regional distributors. These would be a combination of both telecom and IT. Through these RDs, Geneva would further target about top 1000 telecom partners and 400 partners in the IT space.
Geneva claims to be the only player in this space. With Esys as its national distributor, it offers about 10% margins to its resellers. Besides, it has recently started offering the software to the schools across the country. According to Saxena, the company has covered almost 90% of the Indian languages so far.
"There are about 50 schools already using our E2C for sending alerts to the parents. We understood the typical pain points of the schools, and provided them with 10-15 applications. The schools can send reminders for fees, report cards etc," informed Saxena.
