Genovate becomes Novell's Indian Platinum Partner

By Pallabika Ganguly
Mumbai, May 22, 2008

Genovate has become Novell's first platinum partner in India. According to the company, Novell has identified Genovate as a platinum partner to cater to the training market in India. Contextually, Novell's Partner Program has 3 membership levels - Silver, Gold and Platinum. Platinum partners enjoy dedicated account management, business planning and the opportunity to co-engage with Novell on major customer opportunities.

"They are our training partners and as such each course that they train, the instructor has to be focused. Right now, they are focused first on Ciso Linux, all official software; and as we continue growing in Indian market, we will be able to train any solution that Novell offers," says, Mary Jo Swenson, vice president of Novell Technical Learning.

Genovate currently operates in 9 cities across India, which include Mumbai, Cochin, Trichy, Ahmedabad, Pune, Lucknow, Mangalore, Baroda, Hyderabad and Bangalore. They are planning to expand their training and are going to operate in next 6 cities in a couple of months.

"We have 2 focuses on the market where we currently operate. We have been operating in Mumbai for 7 years, Bangalore and Hyderbad are also 2 other areas - where we have been successful. This is phase 1, and in phase 2 we are going to move to other big cities - which is expected in the next month possibily," says Anton Ravindran, group CEO and founder of Genovate.

Genovate will offer Novell Commercial Training. This courseware addresses architectural reviews and enterprise solutions. The hands-on training using a live Novell network gives answers and insights needed to address complex IT issues. Training vouchers and public enrollment are accepted, making it easy for experienced engineers to attend training. Advanced Technical Training enables IT staff to deploy and upgrade solutions quickly and efficiently, avoiding implementation headaches. Genovate is planning to have tie-up with universities and colleges for this project.
