Gigabyte, the manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, announced its latest GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard featuring the AMD 780G chipset, the first DirectX 10 IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) solution for the AM2+ platform.
Based on the AMD 780G chipset, the new motherboard offers support for AMD AM2 Athlon 64 series processors as well as the latest AM2+ Phenom series processors with low latency, high bandwidth (5200MT/s) Hyper Transport 3.0 technology.
At the heart of the board lies the ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics core with DirectX 10 graphics support. Featuring IGP graphics performance with a 3DMark06 score of 1500 or greater, the motherboard provides high-definition multimedia experience. In addition to featuring support for ATI Avivo HD technology for smooth video playback, the GA-MA78GM-S2H allows for playback of the latest Blu-Ray HD content with support for the ATI UVD technology, for fine image quality and smooth playback, while consuming less power.
The motherboard also provides an additional PCI-E 2.0 x16 graphics interface to support the ATI Hybrid Graphics technology.
Supported ATI Hybrid Graphics Technologies -
ATI Hybrid CrossFireX : Both integrated and discrete graphics simultaneously work together to unleash faster frame rates to take gaming to a whole new level (with ATI Radeon HD 2400 and 3400 series of ATI Hybrid CrossFireX certified VGA cards).
ATI SurroundVIew : Provides support for 4 or more monitors with the addition of a discrete graphics card, allowing users to maximize their productivity.
ATI PowerPlay : Smart power management that enables power-saving profiles to help reduce power consumption when the graphics processor is idle or in minimal use for reduced system temperatures and fan noise.
In addition to featuring an integrated DVI/HDMI interface with HDCP, the GA-MA78GM-S2H is equipped with the built-in high-definition 7.1 + 2 channel Realtek ALC889A sound chip, whose 106dB signal-to-noise ratio significantly reduces noise during signal transmission. It supports Full Rate Lossless Audio support for Blu-ray HD media.
The new motherboard also features a solid capacitor design for the CPU VRM.
