Gigabyte Presents Multi-Core Cooling Technology
By

Mumbai, Jun 3, 2008
Gigabyte United, a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, has announced its latest Multi-Core technology, designed with several innovations, which provide high VGA cooling performance.
Gigabyte's Multi-Core Technology, utilizes 3 cool points instead of the traditional single node - to connect the heat pipes to the fins, in order to provide additional thermal conductivity for better performance, especially during heavy loading.
Featuring a series of ultra-thin layered fins with nodes of copper, these added cooling points on the heat pipes help to increase the heat conduction ratio, thereby enhancing overall thermal performance. Using 2 vents to take advantage of the natural convection of airflow inside the chassis, the new technology is able to efficiently disperse the heat from the GPU. It even enables to cool down the GPU up to 7 degree centigrade more than by using an active fan cooling design.
In addition, the company has developed unique Gamer Heads UP Display (HUD) utility to allow hardcore gaming enthusiasts to tweak the highest levels of performance from their VGA card. It features Gamer HUD Engine, the software solution to adjust GPU voltage through a software control panel. It also supports adjusting of GPU, shader (Nvidia only) and memory clock settings, for maximum overclocking performance.
Furthermore, an all-new PWM Frequency feature is bundled in the latest version of Gamer HUD, supporting 2 modes of optimized power configurations. Turbo mode provides an increase in power, allowing for better overclocking capabilities. It also provides advanced power savings through its auto-optimized 2D/3D GPU frequency switching feature.
When enabling 2D applications such as email, web browsing and media playback, the GPU frequency will be downgraded to 2D mode automatically - which saves power consumption. For more graphics intensive applications such as gaming and 3D rendering, the 3D switch is activated, raising the GPU frequency to allow for the greatest level of performance. Gigabyte's 2D/3D switch can be set on Auto-Optimized Mode (Enable) or Customizable Mode (Disable), according to users' preference.
Also featuring a state-of-the-art power design and layout, Gigabyte Ultra Durable 2 Edition graphics cards deliver a good integration of thermal, electric characteristics, digital signals, power circuitry and optimum placement for enhanced graphics performance, improving the stability of the electric voltage and current, for the best in graphics overclocking capabilities.
Gigabyte products are distributed in India by Avnet, Ingram Micro and Redington.
