Globus Infocom Scouts For New Partners

By Sandhya Malhotra
Delhi, Jul 7, 2007

Audio-video distributor Globus Infocom (GIL) plans to launch a month-long partner recruitment drive, starting from 10th August 2007, to expand its channel operation in India.

According to Alex Daniel, director of GIL, the company intends to appoint channel partners from different segments like small and big system integrators, office automation dealers, IT partners, and audio-video partners across more than 150 cities. "During the drive, we will be educating our Globus Presentation Dealers (GPDs) in terms of soft and technical skills, product information, pricing, dealer policies, schemes, incentives and high margins," he added.

The company is looking to expand its channel strength from the current 225 to 250.

Recently, the company was appointed as the sole national distributor by Japan based Elmo for its new range of document presentation cameras. GIL already has alliances with Mitsubishi Electric, Japan, and GTCO Calcomp, USA for distribution of automation products in India.

With more and more foreign vendors planning to start their operations in India - drawn by the rapidly growing convergence market - GIL is planning to enter into more new tieups by the end of this year. "We already have a comprehensive range of projectors and interactive white boards in our portfolio. Now with document presentation cameras in our kitty, we are a one-stop shop for all audio-video solutions," Daniel said.

GIL has 9 offices across India and has a presence in education, defense, government, corporate, and Research and Development centers.
What do you think of Globus' expansion plans?

I am working with Globus Infocom ltd for four years as Business Development Manager .So i would like to share my views as we all know that Globus Infocom is the pioneer company for presentation technology solution . and Central and State govt are bringing up with so many schemes in 11th five year plan to promote technology classroom and skill development programme for common people. Since we have a proper strategic plan to make policy in Central and State govt to bring this presentation technology to work into effect and now we should provide this information to channels so that they can get more opportunities to make business and here i would like to wind up by saying that our seniors are doing a remarkable innovative work in this industry.

Hai, Ya santosh i agree that globus company is coming with new technology products to catter the market but i suggest that you have to work in MHRD/education segment to in incorporate all products in policy/plan otherwise it is very difficult to purchase by individual departments. Another is my suggestion that for class station and multimedia station you have to make advertisement for awareness.

I think that, as GIL has penetrated into various market segments...a proper positioning and strategy is required to expand its channels. May be appointing different channel partners from various backgrounds will help it out,,,still it has to look for the target market segment...which will focus mainly on the consumer needs and demands... It is first to make the brand aware in the market....then only it can work for the expansion plans....As a fresher I've all this to say...and i'ld like to work for GIL for growth in my carrier with a growing organization..Thank you

I am already working with Globus for bhopal, here i suggest you to kindly appoint one regional distributor for region wise instead of citywise dealers. You also feel comfortable to handle one distributor instead of multidealer in one city. You decide the distributor and dealer price from your end. Instead of making individual sales call for business, Company sales personal should help to expand the channel business with the support of distributor in their territory. Looking to the expansion of market and opprtunities You have to adopt the above policies as earliest.
