HCL Launches India's First 1TB PC

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Jul 16, 2007

HCL Infosystems has launched India's first personal computer with 1 TeraByte (TB) hard drive capacity, targeted at designing and animation professionals and consumers who use and store multimedia content such as personal videos, home movies, high-definition pictures, and music.

Powered by Hitachi Global Storage Technologies' recently launched Deskstar 7K1000 1 TB hard drive, the new HCL PC has been introduced in 2 models - an entry level and a high-end Digital Content Creation Workstation.

The entry-level PC ships with Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1 GB RAM, 17" flat panel monitor, HCL EC2 technology and HCL Active Management Console. The Digital Content Creation Workstation comes loaded with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a special bundle of Quadro FX 1500 and Adobe Production Studio Premium.

George Paul, vice president of HCL Infosystems, said, "Our launch of India's first 1 TeraByte PC, armed with Hitachi's Deskstar 7K1000 hard drive, delivers unparalleled storage advantage to enterprise users working on storage-intensive applications across industries, including publishing, designing and production houses. These new PCs will also take care of all the storage needs of today's consumers who are living digital lifestyles."

HCL has announced countrywide availability of these PCs, with the entry-level model priced at Rs.35,000 and the Digital Content Creation Workstation at Rs.99,000.
