By
ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Oct 16, 2007
Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL and chairperson of HCL Technologies, announced that Vineet Nayar, president of HCL Technologies, would assume the CEO chair with effect from October 16, 2007. Nadar will be the chairperson and chief strategy officer of HCL Technologies.
Nadar said that 3 decades ago, 6 first generation entrepreneurs began their journey that created several landmarks in IT -- from shipping out the first PC in 1978 to Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) in 2001.
The board felt that having both an executive chairperson and a CEO would best serve the organization.
Nayar commented that he has a long and rich association with HCL, where he has had the opportunity to be disruptive in his thinking and create differentiated models for growth.
Nayar had joined the company as a management trainee in 1985 and was appointed the president of HCL Comnet in 1994. He took over as the company's president since 2005.
In his new role, Nadar would mentor the HCL core management team and provide 'Thought Leadership' to them.

HCL needs to improve it's after sales services and not thought leadership.....I am afraid to say that if HCL continues to provide such bad services might loose it's customers...I've been vsiting HCL Service Center in Nehru Place for the same problem 4-5 times...now I need to replace my laptop but they refuse....Everytime I take back the laptop from their Service centre it works for few days and then he same problem...."NO Display" and every time I get to hear diffrent reasons from them such as - "You don't handle it with care" "You don't carry it properly" "there must be problem in your switch" "may be you are frequently changing your Display settings".....I'm feedup with their comments and Services....Now I think I have to take the help of Consumer Court....Very bad services I must say.... |
