HP India today announced a formal inclusion of US-based data center consultants EYP Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) in its market portfolio. In Feb 2008, HP acquired EYP to expand its data center services in Asia-Pacific region.
Highlighting the need to transform existing data center configurations, Richard Einhorn, president of EYP said, "60% of resources amounts from the power and cooling exhaustions of data centers and hence, undertaking energy efficient operations and building reliability of data centers is cardinal. We recognize the need for providing a strong facility strategy to the enterprizes."
Elaborating on EYP's Critical Facilities Services (CFS) portfolio Einhorn said, "We have a comprehensive plan of strategic planning, design, and a post-construction assurance for enterprizes requiring data centers."
EYP hopes to design and support the existing HP clients to provide what Narsimhan Tupil, GM (Technology Services Business) HP India calls 'building a strategic asset for companies instead a physical one'.
In Indian division, HP intends to concentrate on major enterprizes and offer services to BFSI, telecom, manufacturing, and retail sectors. Being specific to the Indian segment, Tupil predicted the growth of data center market at a rate of 22%.
