HP Partners Sound Battle-Cry in Panipat

By Yuga Chaudhari
Mumbai, Dec 27, 2007

Irked by the laidback attitude of HP's service provider, Addonis Electronics, the Panipat Computer Dealers Association (PCDA) is planning to take strong action, if the problem remains unresolved.

As a first step, the association intends to issue purchase suspension order for HP Consumer IPG (Image and Printing Group) in protest of non-hearing of the problem. The move will be finalized during the meeting to be held on 28th December.

Currently, there is no active service center for HP entry-level printers in the city, which is adversely affecting the businesses of the partners.

According to Ajay Singla, president of PCDA, "Addonis is the only service provider for HP in Panipat, but it doesn't have adequate infrastructure to solve technical problems with the product. HP printer is a fast-moving product in the market."

"With no proper service available, we are promoting other brands like Epson and Canon to our customers, for the last one month," he added.

As per a PCDA mail received by ChannelTimes, the Panipat dealer community has been facing service problems with HP for the last 3 months. The mail further states that "PCDA is receiving increasing complaints against the service provider (Addonis Electronics) from the members as well as the end customers".

"We have written mails to Ajay Agrawal, the area service manager for HP, detailing the problem. But nothing concrete has been communicated to us," informed Singla.

When contacted, Agrawal said that the company is aware of this issue and it is in the process of starting a service center soon.

Same is the case with HP at Jammu(J&K). But there is no other competitor with a better setup. Canon, Epson and Samsung are worse than HP. So the case is that HP is the best out of the junk because others are more non-performing than HP.

Before switching to other brands, are the dealers aware if good service support for other brands is available? Other wise it will be "from the frying pan, into the fire."
