Mumbai, Jul 13, 2007
HP announced its new ProLiant DL180 server for growing businesses in the Asian markets. Powered by Intel's dual-core and quad-core Xeon processors, the server is designed to offer maximum performance while controlling costs.
According to Tony Parkinson, vice president and general manager (Industry Standard Servers) of HP Asia Pacific and Japan, "HP ProLiant DL180 is the ideal platform for customers who're looking to grow beyond the capabilities of a distributed, tower-server-based environment, offering all the efficiencies of a rack server while maintaining the economics of a tower server."
The new server comes equipped with essential management features allowing network administrators to easily check and update servers from a remote location. It also features essential management, redundancy, and sufficient power to handle complex business requirements. Its new 2U chassis and the 2Gb DIMM memory option kit are specifically designed to support the computing needs of growing businesses.
In addition, the server meets the needs of network service providers looking to manage the networking, gaming, mail and messaging, file and print, and data storage applications of their customers.
Commenting on the new launch, Rajesh Dhar, country manager (Industry Standard Servers) of HP India, said, "The addition of this new server to our portfolio expands the scope of our solutions to the booming SMB and mid-market segments in the country."
Key features of HP ProLiant DL180 include: choice of new dual-core and quad-core Intel Xeon processors with 1066 or 1333 MHz front side bus for improved power efficiency; custom ordering options-based on performance needs (processors, memory, hard drives, HP Care Pack Services, etc.); scalable internal bays to meet storage needs with up to 8 Hot Plug SATA/SAS hard drives; performance for 32-bit and 64-bit application solutions; supports up to 16Gb PC2-5300 fully buffered DIMMs with advanced ECC.
