Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced that its NonStop servers are gaining popularity in India. These servers were widely supported by India NonStop (Tandem) User Group (InNUG) in its recently-held fifth annual summit. InNUG is the Indian chapter of the International Tandem User Group (ITUG), which focuses on developing the network between user organizations. It facilitates the development of NonStop technology and its applicability to business requirements.
As per a company communique, NonStop servers are an important part of its business critical server division. These servers offer the highest levels of availability, scalability, fault tolerance and data integrity in their class, claims the company.
Santanu Ghose, country manager (Business Critical Systems and NonStop Servers), HP India, said, "InNUG is an excellent meeting forum for the NonStop user base, and provides all the relevant information and resources for its members to leverage HP's NonStop Systems for best business results."
Some of the company's NonStop customers in India include Bombay Stock Exchange, State Bank of India, Union Bank, Punjab National Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Reliance Infocomm, Canara Bank and many more.
HP further enhanced its NonStop server with the introduction of NonStop blade servers (Itanium based). As per the company, this newly-added server has been accepted by customers from various segments like telecommunications, financial services and government. With the introduction of the NonStop blade servers, HP is now providing customers a significantly increased performance level at a much lower footprint.
